Guidelines

Article I

Name

The name of this organization shall be the Greater Naugatuck Valley History Consortium.

Article II

Location

The location of the Greater Naugatuck Valley History Consortium shall be:

Article III

Purpose

The Greater Naugatuck Valley History Consortium is a membership driven historical organization designed:

  1. To join together the greater Naugatuck Valley historical societies, town historians and museum leaders with common purposes that encourage and promote mutual support and the sharing of information and resources.

Article IV

Membership

Membership in this organization shall be open to all who wish to promote local history.

Article V

Board of Directors

All representatives of the area historical societies and town historians in attendance at meetings of the Greater Naugatuck Valley History Consortium shall constitute the Board of Directors.

Article VI

Officers

The officers of this organization shall be the Chairperson, Recording Secretary and Treasurer.

Article VII

Committees

The chairperson may at any time, appoint individuals or committees to fulfill the tasks of arranging for nominations, programs, fund raising and membership.

Article VIII

Meetings

The group will meet at such times as are set by the group, September through June, with an Annual Meeting set for November (or another month).

Article IX

Nominations and Elections

Nominations and elections shall be conducted every two years.

Article X

Parliamentary Procedures

Robert’s Rules of Order shall be the appropriate accepted parliamentary procedures.
